A compilation of some old footage from a visit to an air display at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford back in 2009 that was thought to have been lost.
I found some old tapes in the archive, which included a load of standard-definition footage taken at the American Air Museum weekend at Duxford. Mostly handheld shots, in standard definition, but great to see again.
To be able to see a Spitfire in formation with a Hawker Hurricane, then a BAE Hawk jet fighter, followed by a North American P-51 Mustang was something to behold.
Aircraft included are:
- Consolidated PBY Catalina
- General Dynamics F-16A MLU
- de Havilland DH89 Dragon Rapide
- Avro Anson T21
- Supermarine Spitfire
- BAE Systems Hawk
- Hawker Hurricane
- North American P-51D Mustang ‘Ferocious Frankie’
- Percival Pembroke
- North American T-6 Texan
- de Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk
- Piper L4A Grasshopper
- Boeing Stearman
- Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress
