Richard Edwards is an author and screenwriter living in the picturesque county of Sussex in the UK.He has a passion for history, biography and adventure and writes both fiction and non-fiction. He has worked in the media for many years, including with the BBC and a range of commercial broadcasters in the UK and overseas. He has written and produced documentaries and radio drama, recorded numerous celebrity interviews and worked in news production.
Recently Richard has published British Flying Legends, a series of books that chronicle some of the world’s greatest airmen and aviation innovators. The first edition in the series includes Guy Gibson: Legend of the Dam Busters, John Moffat: Legend of the Bismarck and RJ Mitchell: Legend of the Spitfire.
In 2012 he published Heroes and Landmarks of British Aviation (Pen and Sword Aviation Books), an insight into the lives and aircraft of Britain’s greatest aviation pioneers during the twentieth century. Richard included some previously unpublished material by his father and chose the share the author’s credit with him. In 2010 he posthumously published The Rise and Fall of the Japanese Imperial Naval Air Service (Pen and Sword Aviation Books 2010) written by his late father Peter Edwards, who passed away in 1992. Both titles are available in hardback or eBook.
